Shannon Gutierrez

LPC- Associate and certified school counselor

I am an LPC- Associate and certified school counselor with a passion for supporting children, adolescents, adults, and families. My background in educational settings equips me to address academic, emotional, and behavioral challenges with empathy and evidence-based care. As a trained member of a crisis response team, I have experience in trauma-informed care, grief support, and crisis intervention. I specialize in working with adolescents dealing with anxiety, family transitions, and self-harming behaviors, as well as guiding teens through goal-setting, identity development, and post-secondary planning. Additionally, I provide therapeutic support to children and adults experiencing adjustment difficulties, social-emotional concerns, and grief and loss.

As a parent of three teenagers, I understand firsthand the complexities and emotional demands of parenting. I am particularly passionate about supporting women and mothers in prioritizing their mental health and well-being. My therapeutic approach is individualized, collaborative, and rooted in evidence-based practices, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Narrative Therapy and Solution-Focused Therapy.

I also incorporate expressive modalities such as sand tray therapy, art therapy, journaling and play therapy to foster self-expression, emotional regulation, and resilience. My goal is to provide a compassionate and safe environment where clients feel seen, supported, and equipped to thrive.
