Shea is a dedicated Licensed Professional Counselor-Associate with a deep commitment to helping children, teens, and families thrive. With 20 years of teaching experience and a Bachelor’s degree in Education with a specialization in Early Childhood Education from Baylor University, Shea understands the unique challenges children and families face in educational and developmental settings.
After earning her Master of Education in Counseling and Development with a Specialization in Professional School Counseling from Lamar University, Shea expanded her expertise to focus on supporting young children, children with special needs, foster and adoptive children, teenagers, and their families.
Shea is passionate about Play Therapy and Sandtray Therapy, powerful approaches that help children express their thoughts and emotions. Through Play Therapy, she creates a safe and nurturing space for children to communicate and process their feelings through play. In Sandtray Therapy, Shea provides a hands-on, creative environment where children and teens use miniature figures and a sandbox to explore and express their inner worlds. These therapeutic methods allow children and teenagers to heal, grow, and better navigate challenges.
Drawing on her comprehensive knowledge of the public school system, Shea assists parents in navigating educational systems and advocating for the needs of their children and teens. Compassionate and understanding, Shea provides practical feedback and tools to help clients overcome personal challenges and build stronger family relationships.
Shea believes in giving children, teenagers and families hope, empowering them to build on their strengths, and helping them achieve personal growth. Shea is married and the proud mother of two young adult children. She cherishes family time and understands the joys and challenges of parenting firsthand, which deepens her connection and empathy for the families she works with.
